The traditional event, organized by the MTB & Trial club Mraveniště Říčany under the leadership of Vlasta Kabeláč Čiháček, gained a little more volume with the arrival of Pavel Hájek (former manager of the FORBIKES fair). This year, the program was expanded, the event returned to a two-day format (as during the organization of international UCI C1 races) and the Expo zone was added.
The plans were grand, the preparation was demanding, but the fate of outdoor events is always the roulette wheel called weather. The cyclists really enjoyed it this year. On the Monday before the race, a storm arrived, causing complete destruction to the Tehov pumptrack. Thanks to the municipality of Tehov and Michal Marošim, we managed to secure a group of people who restored it to almost its original condition, which, if it had lasted, would have guaranteed a beautifully groomed track. Unfortunately, on Friday evening and practically all of Saturday, the devils were literally getting married in Říčany and Tehov. The rain stopped only late on Saturday afternoon. The pumptrack was practically half destroyed again. However, every event organizer knows that it is necessary to fight for the success of the event. The pumptrack was repaired until late at night, with the prospect of the promised warming and sunny weather on Sunday. Fortunately, that came.
Practically most of the disciplines from Saturday were moved to a limited extent to Sunday. The first to start was the postponed Children's Trial Race, where spectators could admire the art of overcoming obstacles performed by the youngest children from the club and guests. The race was run according to modified rules, which motivate riders more to complete the entire section than the current official rules.
Due to the schedule, the race was fast and some were able to jump straight into the kids' MTB XC race, which was very physically demanding due to the terrain slowly drying out. Parents cheered and the kids didn't give up an inch. The challenge was also reflected in the number of riders who gave up in the high humidity and heat, but hats off to them for finding the courage to race in these conditions.
This was followed by the exhibition race of the Trial for adults, which was a bit of a Trial holiday. In one race, 4 generations of Trialists faced each other. Vlasta Kabeláč Čiháček as a 10x Elite Champion of the Czech Republic against his champion, multiple world champion Martin Šimůnek, who after almost 10 years of riding exhibitions again tried what it was like to race. To make matters worse, after 5 years, local native, champion of the Czech Republic and Vlasta's student Petr Jeřicha also returned. The circle was closed by Matouš Balík, Lukáš Valný and other guys from the club. Petr Jeřicha won the victory across all difficulties of the course ahead of Martin and Vlasta. The latter won the Elite category and the Trial record. Lukáš Valný won the Bunnyhop contest.
During the Adult Trial, training began on the Pumptrack track, which had dried up a bit. Pumptrack training had to be banned for the whole morning. The conditions were the same for all riders, and even though the track was slow and physically demanding, there were many great performances in the battles for big prize money, cups and medals.
This year, over 115 riders started at the event, a lot of fans arrived and even more of them were unfortunately discouraged by the weather. You will be able to watch the recording of the event on ČT Dčko, or on YB Trialshow and Bikeskills team after the editing is completed.
We look forward to next year with you and hopefully the weather order will work out.
