FOR BIKES 2019 – results and report

This year's 10th year of the FOR BIKES fair is behind us. The TRIALSHOW.cz team from the MTB & TRIAL MRAVENIŠTĚ Říčany club was once again behind the organization of the accompanying program, which this year was unusually in Hall 1 with the support of brands and companies: ABF, the FOR BIKES fair, XTLine, the BIKESALON program, ŠKODA, We Love Cycling, BIGSHOCK.

The construction of the obstacles and facilities this time fell to Lukáš Valný and Martin Šimůnek , who prepared many elements for Trialists, as well as an MTB track for the Dual and Sprint exhibition race with technical elements.

The material was chosen with regard to the two-day possibility of building from pallets, coils and logs. There was again a slight change in the program, when one of the records was dropped due to time reasons and instead of the jump over the tape, an unofficial jump sideways onto a fixed obstacle was included at the request of the riders.

Friday was purely exhibition with training. Saturday was all about records and Sunday was dedicated to MTB Dual and Sprint.

Only one of the official records was broken, in the 20” wheel category. Honza Šmíd , who also became the overall winner of this category, moved the limit to 136 cm. At the same time, he broke his unofficial record in the side jump onto a fixed obstacle to 137 cm. He also managed to equal his last year’s record in the back wheel jump with a value of 270 cm. Marek Pochtiol finished second overall and Marek Buchtele third.

In the mountain bike category, unfortunately, the values remained quite far from equaling the records already set. The winner was Lukáš Muller , ahead of Marek Tryner , who despite his height showed a solid performance, and ahead of Tomáš Kočička in third place. After a long time, Petr Jeřicha joined the fight for at least one record on a borrowed bike from the current record holder Vlasta Kabeláč Čiháček, who was undergoing knee surgery at the time.

In the MTB Dual , which started at a height of almost 2m with a start from the roof of the TRIALSHOW team trailer and continued with several obstacles with a turn over a smaller wallride, Enduro rider Martin Dostál won, ahead of Lukáš Valný and another Enduro rider Adam Stašek .

Unlike the Dual , the MTB Sprint was purely about the rider's fight against time, i.e. one track and smaller obstacles, where strength and explosiveness were the deciding factors. The winner was, as expected, the junior champion of the country in the classic Sprint , Matěj Bedrník , ahead of Adam Stašek and this time unexpectedly ahead of Lukáš Valný .

Hopefully next year at this great event, which is one of the few that will make Trials sport visible to the general public, see you later.

PS: we still have a bunch of photos and a video from the event to come. Stay tuned.
