An invitation from a partner is never refused, and certainly not if they arrive at the second largest cycling race in the world, the Giro d'Italia, the first stages of which were held in Budapest. Thanks to Levelsportkoncept - specifically the brand for which I have been riding most of my sports career - POC, my colleague Mark Tryner and I had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of such a big event and watch road cycling from the front line.
The exhibition itself took place in a beautiful central park near the start. We had both our team trailer and branded obstacles from our partners on site. The sound system was occupied by a broadcast on a large screen, but in the end we found a way to attract the audience to our exhibitions and moderate a little in English. Riding the obstacles was also a great workout, which sometimes got out of hand and we rode for a few hours at a time.
Everything hurts, but perhaps there was satisfaction both on the part of the POC brand and on the part of the spectators, for whom it was a very unconventional event in opposition to the time trial performed by the road racers.
