17/6 Jablonné - UEC European Marathon Championship
The somewhat tabloid headline of the report literally reflects the type of events that our team and I participated in.
First up was the European Marathon Championship, performed by Vlasta Kabeláč Čiháček and Martin Šimůnek, when in addition to the main exhibition at the opening ceremony, they also ran at a local school for almost 300 schoolchildren, including a small workshop. There was a slight shift in the ceremony itself on the square, but the spectators cheered even more in the increasing heat.
18/6 Ralsko - Forestry Days 2022
The Forestry Days event is a traditional affair, when over 15,000 people head out into the middle of the forest to admire forestry equipment, hunters' catches and simply everything connected with the forest and its care. Martin Šimůnek, Dominik Budský and Vlasta Kabeláč Čiháček could already feel the coming heat literally behind their ears, but they still put on a relatively brisk exhibition on the STIHL Timber Sport stage, where there was even a jumping competition between master lumberjacks. Česká Lípa - City Festivals
The Česká lípy Center welcomed literally thousands of people during the day, who enjoyed both the nearby pilgrimage and attractions, as well as the main stage, where a number of well-known bands performed. The scorching heat of over 32 degrees and the asphalt surface are not exactly ideal for attracting people, but our team still managed to fill the square. Martin Šimůnek, Vlasta, Dominik Budský (unicycle rider), Matouš Balík were joined by the local Trial legend and Martin's first student, Majkl Matys, who after many years pulled out his Trial bike and showed that some things are not forgotten. Thanks to his help, the heat could be survived and together with Vlasta they put bombs even through the tape together with the competitors. In fact, 4 generations of Trialists had the chance to meet at the exhibition.
Liberec - international Megamini handball tournament
Without Michal and Dominik, our team went to Liberec, where an event was held for a few hundred enthusiastic handball players. Fortunately, the exhibition was aimed at the afterparty, which was held outside and in the shade. The heat caused one of the obstacles to burst at the previous exhibitions, and the riders also showed a certain amount of fatigue. However, a bunch of enthusiastic athletes gave us energy, and thanks to the help of the kids from the club, Marty and Nikolka Kabeláč, a 30-minute show started, which entertained both children and adults. Matouš Balík was probably the freshest, who even won the mini-contest in jumping over the ribbon. We arrived home after 10, but full of experiences.
