Trial and Pump Jam Tehov 2024

The farewell to Tehovský Park before the winter and perhaps the spring reconstruction in the form of smaller races and training has been postponed a bit. There was a risk that few riders would arrive due to the long weekend, but in the end the turnout was surprising. About 20 riders started in the Trial and a similar number on the pumptrack, which is about half of the club staff. The weather was for the more hardened, i.e. alternating muddy with no rain, but the children didn't mind and the adult riders survived too 🙂

The rules were, as every year, based on OPEN FREE with the choice of arrows that the rider wants to ride and the choice of difficulty. The categories were divided by age and for the older ones by the riders. Each rider had to adapt the course to himself with a limit of 5-6 arrows per section. The riders rode in groups with their own referee, who also had the opportunity to adjust the rules according to the riders.

It was great that a few club legends who don't normally come to training arrived. Michal Havránek got up from the director's chair and saddled his blue Ozonys and fought more with his physical condition than with the bike, which he said he had to catch up with. Martin Šimůnek had his last big event on the 24" before switching to the 26", where he won a number of world titles and surprised a lot in the duel with Míra Brunclík. In fact, after 50, giving hooks around 10-11 pallets on the mud is a piece of cake and Míra and Martin managed to ride Mára and Vlasta on one of the sections in the first round. On the opposite age spectrum, Martin also rode smartly for 3rd place, but Gombošů.

The rules were very much about the head and thinking, when even a weaker rider in terms of jumping/performance could ride a more experienced rider if he tried heavier arrows and it was quite visible in the results. 5 riders were registered on 20” wheels and the same number on 26”. Tobík Dolák won the Elite 20” just ahead of his 20” guru Valňák and Vlasta fought for first place in the hot rods with Mára Tryner.

The pump track was run immediately after, so that the Trialists had time to change clothes and bikes. After a few training sessions, the smallest riders started on their balance bikes, and gradually the fastest adults followed.

The end was about cleaning and sausages.
